Wrap Gifts without Waste

This holiday season, give gifts that won’t stuff the landfills.

Here are a few of KRC’s tips on wrapping without waste:

-Give two gifts in one by wrapping with a bandanna, scarf, dish towel, or in a reusable cloth bag.

-Be a funny guy (or gal) and wrap your gift with the comic pages from the newspaper.

-Blow their mind by wrapping your gift with pages containing Sodoku, crossword puzzles, or word finds.

-If you must, buy recycled/recyclable paper. Most commercial wrapping paper is not recyclable, especially metallic or waxy papers. Search online for products made with post-consumer content.

For the ultimate in zero-waste/ zero-guilt giving,  give a membership to the Knoxville Recycling Coalition.

With lots of great perks, like the ability to drop off paper for secure document destruction, access to our ever-expanding resource library, newsletters and recycling guides, KRC membership makes a great gift for that special person in your life. And it’s the gift that keeps on giving. All Educational Programming is supported solely through membership.

For information on giving the gift of KRC Membership, contact KRC at 525-9694.
